In June 2024, the school planned, designed and created shoe bags using progressive DT skills throughout the classes and the end products were then lovingly filled with items donated by our families. The joy on the faces of the recipients is clear to see and the pride in which our children reacted to that joy was very moving.
In Oct 2023, Simon Allaby, from Bolney Chapel came to speak to the children about the plight of school children in Sierra Leone. He explained how they lacked clean water, clothing and basic items such as toothbrushes and soap. He shared with the children how each year a truckful of equipment and resources was sent from Bolney to Brama School in Sierra Leone and he asked the children for their help.
Bolney CEP was quick to rise to the challenge, with teachers planning how to help the children to learn more about Sierra Leone and how the children could become change makers by helping.
During the Spring Term, Janet O'Shea from ConneXion came to speak to the children about her experiences visiting Brama School in Sierra Leone.
