Our aim is to be pro-active in challenging discrimination and promoting the celebration of differences. We do this through the following objectives.
Equality Objectives 2024-25:

To explore, understand and celebrate diversity and promote friendship and tolerance through our curriculum and collective worship.

To embed links with schools in Haiti and Sierra Leone to promote awareness of disparities in access to education, and encourage children to help.

To ensure children understand their rights and responsibilities towards others by becoming a rights respecting school.

To maintain our positive school environment to be accessible, welcoming and inclusive for all.

To challenge disrespect or bullying regarding the protected characteristics of age, gender reassignment, marriage, pregnancy, disability, race, religion, sex or sexual orientation

To develop understanding of equality, equity and justice through Relationships and Health Education.

To encourage progress and attendance for all pupils and work to close any gaps, including children eligible for free school meals, pupils with special educational needs and disabilities and looked after children.
Public Sector Equality Duty The Equality Act 2010 places a statutory duty on the school to have due regard to the need to:
• Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation;
• Advance equality of opportunity; and
• Foster good relations between people from different groups.
