Worship at Bolney

ACTS OF WORSHIP
We have an act of worship every day when we use stories from the Bible and from peoples' lives to support our Christian values of love, respect, honesty and resilience. This helps the children to learn about the world, how to be with other people and how to be the best they can be, guided by God. Two of the weekly worships are lead by the headteacher or other members of staff and, at least once a term, clergy from the village lead our worship too. There is a whole school singing assembly once a week and a worship led by the children. On a Friday, the whole school come together along with parents, for a Celebration Assembly.

The children have written our school prayer which has actions to support it.

Dear  Lord,

Thank-you for this lovely school.

Guide us to make the right choices

and

Help us to remember our values.

You hold the hands of everyone and lift the hearts of us all.

Watch down on us when we try our best

and

Help us to work together.

We will trust in you forever.

Amen

SPIRITUALITY
“Spirituality is not something we can see; it is something we feel inside ourselves. It is about awe and wonder, asking questions, being inspired and being aware of something ‘bigger’ outside of ourselves.”

When talking to children about spirituality we talk about:

  • A sense of awe and wonder
  • Care for nature and living things
  • Wanting to love and to be loved by people
REFLECTION
Each classroom has a reflection area where the children can take time, pray and reflect. Teachers update these areas with current news stories and real life scenarios to help pupils to develop empathy and to ask questions about people in the wider world.
The Peace Garden is our whole school reflection area. There is a trail around the Peace Garden and pupils can stop and reflect at any point. Have a look on our Peace Garden page for more information.
