Active learning ideas to support home learning
Here are some demonstrations of games you could play with your child/children at home. They are ideal for practising times tables/number bonds, spelling and phonics as these are the areas we ask children to focus on at home. All of the activities can be adjusted for different ages and purposes to fit your child’s needs.
Sometimes it can be a bit of a battle to encourage your child to practise at home so these games are intended to make the learning a little bit more interesting and fun.
We find that in school – the children are more motivated by the challenge aspect as well as competition – whether that is to beat their own score or when playing against someone else.
We hope you find these ideas useful and we would love to see pictures and clips of everyone trying these at home!
